Mid America Bonsai Alliance 2006 Symposium
Dana Quattlebaum Workshop with Pyracantha sp.
Dana Quattlebaum discovered Bonsai in 1996. He made his commitment to Bonsai in 1997 when he became associated with Brussell's Bonsai Nursery, as well as maintaining local private collections. In 1999, his talents were further recognized when he was promoted to Resident Artist/Production Manager for Brussell's Bonsai Nursery. In 2000, Dana began conducting workshops at Brussell's Bonsai Nursery's annual Rendezvous Convention. His exposure at Rendezvous lead to his being invited to give lectures and workshops throughout the Southeastern United States. As with most Bonsai artists, Dana has been influenced by the teachings of many Bonsai Artists especially those that visit Brussell's Bonsai Nursery. Dana credits Kathy Shaner as his most influential mentor, learning advanced techniques and honing his skills when Kathy visits Brussell's Bonsai Nursery each spring. In 2002, Dana was a participant in the first ABS New Talent Contest, in Milwaukee, WI. He now returns to Milwaukee to give a demonstration and hold workshops.
